Activity 1 - KWL
To kickstart your learning activate your prior knowledge. Think about what you already know about Space and what you would like to find out.
Using either J2E or J2EOffice tools create a KWL grid. Here is an example.
Or, if you prefer create your own
Remember you will not need to complete the "What I have learnt" column yet- we will come back to that later.
Activity 2 - Timeline
The first rocket called the V2 was launched in 1942. Research the main events that have happened during each decade (every 10 years) since this time.
Here are some resources to get you started.
Activity 3 - Space Alphabet
To learn some vocabulary we will be using during our learning, complete a Space Alphabet. Try and find a word linked to space for each letter of the alphabet. You can have more than one word for each letter. Here is an example to start you off.
Amser Cymraeg
I'm really looking forward to teaching you to speak Welsh this term. You can get started at home which will help when we are back in class. Have a look at Bore Da magazine and try some of the activities. Can you find out who was the character ' Bendigeidfran'?
You can also brush up on your Welsh alphabet 'Yr Wyddor'. Click on the picture to hear the sounds. If you want to send me anything or ask me a question- dim problem. You can e mail me LecrassC@hwbcymru.net

English Science- Fiction Genre Challenge
|
We are going to be writing a science- fiction or Sci-Fi story this term. What stories and films do you know which are sci-fi?
The features listed below will help you and you can ask adults at home which sci-fi films or books they know. Have a look in our Oxford Owl library for some Sci-fi novels. Can you make a sci fi books and films mind map or an Alphabet? Share you findings ad favourites with me. I loved the film ET! |

Thursday's Thinking Challenge
Use all the numbers on each card once and + - x ÷ to make a total of 24. One dot is the easiest and 3 dot the hardest. Take a picture of your solution and email me or use J2E tools and share with me. Good luck!
Has anyone managed to solve these yet? Send your answers by 12.00 midday today. I will post solutions this afternoon so you can check.
Solutions
Well done Anya for posting one solution. Here are my solutions
one dot 8 2 2 6 ........ 8 x 2 = 16 + 6 = 22 + 2 = 24
two dots 7 6 2 2 ...... 7 + 6 = 13 x 2 = 26 - 2 = 24
three dots 8 6 6 2 ... 6 ÷ 2 = 3. 9 ÷ 3 = 3 x 8 = 24
