Our School

We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Penyrheol Primary school and hope that the years spent here will be happy and successful. The information on our website is intended to outline the culture of our school and help introduce you and your child to the whole school community.

Every year we have many visitors to the school and frequently comments are passed on the high quality of the learning environment and relationships within the school. The school is extremely proud of its reputation for providing high quality care and attention to each and every individual child, both in terms of pastoral care and educational provision. We work on the understanding that every child is entitled to the very best educational experience that can be provided and we are committed to meeting the legitimate entitlement of every child at all times. Raising standards of attainment and achievement for every individual pupil is a key priority for all staff and governors.

We wish your child a happy introduction to the school and successful progress through his / her time with us. We strongly believe that your involvement in this process is crucial and we will provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about the ways in which we are working with your child. We are keen to have parental involvement at all levels and if you have any spare time to come into the school and work with us, we will be very pleased to accommodate you. We already have an excellent team of volunteers who make a significant contribution to the success of the school, as well as the active Friends of Penyrheol School (FOPS). However, there is always room for more helpers! You will be very welcome. If you intend to get involved and become a helper please contact the school office so that we can process a DBS at no cost to yourself.

We arrange a number of events throughout the year including seasonal celebrations, sports day, summer and Christmas Fayres and class sharing assemblies and concerts. It is always very encouraging to see a good turn out of family and friends at these events.

I look forward to meeting you at one of our many events in the future.

Your sincerely,

Mrs Alison J. Williams NPQH, B.Ed
Headteacher
